SAMSON AND DELILAH.
The roles of Samson and Delilah have just been reversed in Paris, the heroine of the adventure having sacrificed her locks, at 'the behest of the,hero.. A few weeks ago 'a " sportsman" made the acquaintance on the, raoeqourse of a pretty young woman on whom he bestowed: his affection. ,He had a mania for hypnotism, and his great delight was to try experiments' of this kind on the fair charmer, "although quite conscious, pretended to be completely overcome. During one of .these seances she was ordered to betake herself the next morning to the hairdresser to have-her tresses out off, and hereupon arose' a painful dilemma. The young woman argued that if she did not obey her trick would be discovered; so, although',she, was very proud of her beautiful hair; she finally determined on making < the sacrifice! [[ To her infinite disgust, however,, when' she met her admirer, after indergoing the melancholy operation, he frankly confessed that she -was so altered that' he could no longer bear the light of her.
