WILLIAMSON AND MUSGROVE'S LATEST ATTRACTION.
Messrs. Williamson and Musgroye's latest attraction for the delectation of New Zealand playgoers will be the first appearance at the Opera House on Monday evening, October 25, of the eminent English comedian and comedienne Mr. Harry Paulton and Miss Alma Stanley, supported by a speciallyselected company of Australian artists. Mr. Paulton and Miss Stanley arrived in Australia under contract to Messrs. Williamson and Musgrove a few mouths ago, and have since been appearing in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Brisbane with conspicuous success. Mr. Harry Paulton i long connection with the Alhambra, Strand, and other leading London theatres may probibly be welt-known to visitors to the Old Country. As principal comedian of the best West End theatres in he English metropolis, his services have been in continuous demand, and consequently it was only after protraoted negotiations, several times deferred, that.Mr. Oeo. .Musgrove succeeded, on behalf of his arm,, m inducing Mr. Paulton to make a six months colonial tour, which, up to the present, has been a most brilliant success. Miss Alma Stanley, who accompanied Mr, Paulton from England, is also in the enviable position of being the most soughtafter comedienne at present on me English stage. An artiste of magnificent physique, brilliant' and beautiful, her name in. the rest of the programme of any London or New York theatre has hitherto always been a sure " draw." The company stay, here is limited to six nights only,» owing to the great success of their season online other side, it was found necessary to extend it, thus curtailing it here. Auckland •playgoers, however, will not suffer through, tnis arrangement, as within the space, oMl* nights the same nnmber of plays will be produced as would have been the case in tne longer season.
