LOCAL GOVERNMENT BILL.

[BT TELEGRAPH,— ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Monday. At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Counties' Association, a circular was drafted to be sent to all County Councils in the colony, and to associated Road Boards, to the effect that the committee deemed it inadvisable to hold a conference at the present time, as it was generally considered improbable that the Local Government Bill would come before Parliament this session, and if it should do so nothing further than discussion on its principles would take place. The committee would, however, keep a strict watch on the proceedings in the House, and convene a Conference if it was thought necessary.
