The Pukekohe yards, on Monday, were filled with cattle, a large proportion cows. They were dull of sale, and mauv passed. Prices for those sold were from £3 10a to £5 7s 6d each. Calves fully kept their values, and were from 16s to 325; three-year steers. £3 12s (id each.

At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows yarded numerously, were dull of sale. Prices for those at profit were from £2 5s to £4 12a 6d each.. Few store cattle yarded. Calves in full number, 70 penned; although not at the extreme values of last week, sold satisfactorily. Fat cattle in full number, 280 sold. Heavy oxen were at 14s and 15s, medium and light weight steers from 15s to 17s: cows, 10s to 14s the 1001k. Sheep yarded, numerously. Fat sheep at lower values than last week about ls'fjd each; fat wethers were : from 10s 6(1. to 14s; fat ewes, 7s 9d to lis;', hoggets, 7s 6d to 8s 6d; crossbred ewes inlamb, 6s 3d; store hoggets, 4s Jkt to 6s 9d; mixed sheep, 7s 6d each, 2240 sold. Not many pigs yarded; heavy pigs were from £2 to £217s 6d; porkers, 19s to 30s each.

MESSRS. HUNTER AND NOLAN'S WEEKLY REPORT.

Grain, seeds, and horsefeed : Business has not been brisk. The demand has been satisfied by the supply with scarcely any alteration in value. We quote : Maize, on wharf, 2s 3d bushel, ex store 2s 6d to 2a 7d; feed] oats, 2s 9d; seed oats. 2s 6d to 3s ; bran, £5 1 5a top; oaten chaff, £2 10s to £3 5s ton at' station, ex store £310s to £315 a. ' Horses: Dullness has characterised the market. Increased numbers were brought forward, but the demand was slowat the previous, - week a values: average number were sub mitted and disposed of by auction at the , Durham yards on Friday. Heavy draught at from £9 to £16 155, medium draught £7 10s i to £14 14s, light harness horses £3 10s to £8 ss, hacks £3 to £815s. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones: A moderate catalogue met good demand. Ox' bides sold at fronted to 4d lb ; steer, 2|d, to 3d ; cow, 2d to 3d : calfskins, 4Jd to 5Jd ;, tallow, lis cwt: rough fat, fd to |d lb ; sheep-! skins, It 6d to 6s sd; pelts, 9d to Is. Cattle: The number brought forward wai' quite sufficient for requirements, and prices < were slightly in favour of the purchaser, ; particularly for heavy weights and insufficiently fatted. At Newmarket fat beasts were ample for requirements. A good many dairy cows were yarded, but were not keenly competed for. A limited number of stores were disposed of. We quote : Ox beef, 15s to 18s per 1001b. ; cow, 15s to 16s; fat steers sold from £4 10s to £9; fat cows, £3103 to £512s 6d: springers, £310s to £6 ; dry cows, £1 10s to £2 155; calves, 26s to 27s 6d each. ' Sheep were penned in usual numbers, and maintained the previous week's values. Wethers sold at from 10s 3d to 14s 6d ; ewes, 8s to 103 9d ; mixed sexes, 9s 9d to lis 9d ; hoggets, 6s 9d to 83 9d. We again submitted a very large catalogue at our hide and skin sale to-day, and cleared all lots at satisfactory prices. Hides remain firm at last week's quotations, Prime stout ox, at 5d to sjd ; picked, up to 6d: heavy, 4jd to 4Jd; medium, 3£d to 4|d: light, 3Jd to3£d; cow, well-flayed, 2Jd to 3Jd; calf, 4Jd,to sd; scored and cut, 3id to 4tl; kip, 2Jd to 3Jd. Sheepskins: Sold well at an advance of3d. Medium longwools, 3s 3d to 3s 9d« small, 2s 3d to 3s; half-bred, 2s 6d to 3s 9d. Cow and horse hair at late rates. Bones, £310s to £312s 6d per ton. Oats: The market remains about the same, supplies having arrived from the South by the Pukaki. Fair business is passing at 2s 5d to 2s 6jd for good to best feed, ex ship seed, Tartars and Duns, 3a, ex store. Maize is without quotable change, prices i ruling as last quoted, viz., 2s 3d, on wharf, i Chaff: Holders are not eager sellers, although the demand continues good. We! quote: Prime oat sheaf, £3 10s to £3 15s toa ' at railway, sacks extra. Potatoes: The market is well supplied. Prime Southern tables are worth £3 10s ton, ex ship. PALMERSTON NORTH.

Messrs. Abraham and Williams report, as follows on July 23:-We have toreporb; on our Pahiatua sale on Tuesday last and l and Palmerston sale yesterday. At the' former very little of the stock advertised! came forward, thanks to the unprecedented' bad weather that we have experienced lately.' There was a fair attendance and for good wethers and strong weauers we had spirited bidding. At Palmerston the bulk of the stock .advertised came. in, consisting chiefly of forward wethers and fat ewes. Attendance was good. Wethers and ewes in lamb sold freely at recent rates, best fat ewes maintained their prices, though the entry was too large for the market; store and' light fat ewes were rather neglected. For' springing heifers the bidding was spirited at quotations. We quote:- AtPahiatua-Sheep: Forward wethers, 10s Id to 10s3d; fat ewes,' light, 7». Cattle: Mixed weaners, 19s. At/, Palmerston-Sheep: Fat ewes, 8s to 9dld; fat and forward wethers, 10s lOd to lis; : others, 9s 4d to 10s 3d; ewes in lamb, 7s 6dto 9s; small lambs, 3s sd. Cattle: Small bullocks, £4 9s; fat heifers, £210s to £3 8s; springing heifers, £3 10s to £4 83; dairy cows, £510s.

WAIRARAPA. Messes. Lowes and lorns report:—At our fortnightly stock sale on July 25 we had a: good yarding in both sheep and cattle. At the start the bidding whs somehat dull, a large proportion of the entries being passed' in, but at the close of the day only two pens remained unsold. The mutton offering bothin ewes and wethers were only medium weights. Good woollcd wethers were well competed for, but the close woolled class were hard to quit. The beef yarded was of a rough description, only forward store price being obtained. All store steers changed hands, as did young calves, yearlings and quiet young dairy stock. Fat wethers made 10s M, 10s (Jd, 10* 3d; fat ewes, 8s 6d. 8s sd, 83 3d, Bs, 7s 9(1; forward wethers, 9s 9d{ forward ewes, 7s, 6* 9s, 6s 6d; store wethers, ' 9s, 83'9d, 8s fid; store ewes, 6s, 5s 6d; ewe» in lamb, 6s, ss; beef, rough steers, 903, 85s, 82s 6d; forward steers, 7Ss 6d; stores 00*; 18-months, 40s; yearlings, 30s; best calves, 20s; others. 15s, 16s; dairy cows and heifers, 80s to 935. During the week we have transacted a considerable amount of business in stock by private sales. In beef for thevWellington and local markets good; bullocks made up to £5, and cows £3 10s te ' £4, or about 14s to 12s the 1001b respectively.' ■ Mutton for export and Wellington shop trade wethers, lis; ewes, 8s 6d to 9a. In' store cattle we effected a few sales, grown steers making £3 10s to £4; 'growing steers, 21 to 3 years, 58s to 655. In grain and chaff, the trade has been very active, the sudden rue in price bringing in a large quantity from the farmers, who have been getting for sheaf ■ £410«; and straw 40s to 455. Oats, best samples, 3s; medium, 2s 6d to 2s 9d. We have to report executing some large orders in these lines. :
