THE RICH LADY AND THE DIVINE.

A rich lady was in a London omnibus with a considerable sum of money in her purse. Soon a ni'in camo in And ea6 down beside her. She thought of her well-filled purse, and resolved to watch him closely, Suddenly her neighbour put his hand down to his side. She felt it slide until it touched her puree, and instantly she pub out her hand and seized the stranger by the wrist. She managed ■to stammer out that she had thought his hand to be in her pocket,' while the stranger smiled and went oub. Then a gentleman leaned forward to guy: H Don't you know who that is, madam ?
