FELICITATIONS FROM FRANCE. President Faure seat a message to the Queen on behalf of the whole of France, in which warm and sincere felicitations were expressed oil the occasion of the jubilee. . ' Queen Maria Christina,. Queen Regent of Spain, and the Kings of Greece and Portugal visited the British ambassadors and offered their congratulations, whiht the Italian and Argentine Chambers of Deputies sent messages to the House of Commons, in which the heartiest congratulations, w,ere expressed. BRILLIANT SCENE AT COVENT GARDEN. Covent Garden Opera House was a perfect blaze of splendour and beauty on the occasion of the Royal command night All the members of the Royal Family with the exception of theQueea were present. The Colonial Premiers were provided with a box next that occupied by the Royalties. The National Anthem was sung by Madame Melba, Miss Margaret Mclntyre, and Madame Emma Eames, Madame Melba achieved a distinct triumph in the chamber scene from "Remeo and Juliet." She was accorded a brilliant reception.

GRATITUDE. The dinners for the poor of the slum* of London promoted by the Princess of Wales, and towards which the Australian pastoralists had contributed < \ large quantity of meat, were given yes« terday. Over three hundred thousand poor people were entertained. The Prince and Princess of Walei visited the various centres where th? food was distributed. . Everywhere the recipients expressed their gratification by cheering the Queen enthusiastically. MEDALS FOR THE COLONIAL TROOrS. '". London, June 25. The Queen has commanded that a special jubilee medal be issued to all the colonial troops who took part in the celebrations. The medals will be presented to them by the Prince of Wales on July 3. THE JUBILEE IN INDIA. Special prayers were held in the temples and mosques throughout India in commemoration of the Jubilee.
