The Auckland Working Men's Club celebrated Her Majesty's' record reign with a dinner at the olubrooms last evening. The social hall was specially prepared for the OCCnsion, being mos{> elaborately decorated with bunting, greenery, Clijpe.se lanterns, etc., lender the supervision of Sir. J, Pike, who is. (leierywig qf gre.at praise for the taste displayed. Directly ppppsjte the entrance was the Royal standard in shield form, hung with t|je national flagp, flanked with the letters V.R., surmounted by a crown, and the year* 1837, 1897. Above in while letters on a red ground were the words. "By Industry We Prosper," and underneath in large lettering the word " Welcome." On the Que sjde the rqpm was the, word ! 'Qu.e.en." and pa the qtj)e,r ''Empress," these also being Iwnp wjth flags', Several other emblems, apprppriate to the occasion decked the walls. About ninety members eat down to dinner, his Worship the Mayor (Mr. P. A. Dignan), president of the club, ppoupying the oliair. Hβ was supported op the rjghji by the town clerk; (Mr, P, A.
