AUCKLAND. MESSBS. HTOTEB AND NOLAN'S WKEILI RETOBT. Horsembd, grain, seeds: Very Urge atooks of maize are held, and sales are somewhat difficult to effect. We quote; Maize on wharf, new, 2a 4d to 23 5d bushel; old ditto, on wharf, 2s 8d; ex store, 2s 9d to 3s 11 feed oats, 2s lOd to 3s; seed oats, 3s to 3s 3s j oaten chaff, £3 5e to £4 ton; bran »nd sharps, £5 ton. Horses continued in ample supply, and there was a slighi improvement in the demand. A large number were entered for disposal by auction, and prices were elightly w favour of the vendor, particularly in draught stock, a pair selling for £50. We quote i-Heavy draught, from £12 to £25; medium draught, £9 to £1310s: light harness, £4 to £10 ss; hacks, £3 to £8 ss. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones: There was no auction sate this week. _ tattle: The supply has been eood conUttering the season, and the demand good notwithstanding the holidays. At Waiuku on Saturday at the midwinter sale there was « Rood muster and demand «t fully Newmarket rates. At Newmarket on Tuesday the bntchers' pen? were fairlywell filled. The trade were in good attendance, and a steady demand prevailed. We quote :-Ox beef, 17s to 18s per 1001b; cow, 15a to 16V, Steers sold from £5 7s 6d to £8 7s 6d; cows, £3 7s 6d to £6 ss. oneep were penned in average numbers, and well competed for. Wethers sold at from 10s 9d to 15s; ewes, 8s to 11s 3d; mixed sexes, 9s to 12s; etore ewes, 83 6<i r to 10i rigs in moderate numbers.' Porkers sold at from £1 to £111s; stores from 4s to 9s.

WBKJCLY REPORT, At Remuera on Thursday dairy cows, fairly represented, were doll of sale, although a choice one brought £8; prices for those at profit were from £2 10s upwards ; few store cattle yarded. Fat calves in full number were better worth, and brought from 8s to £115s each. Fat cattle in average supply, 200 sold, mostly eteers of choice quality, were from 17s to 18s the IOOIb. fount; cows equalled steers in value, and aged cows were better worth. Steers ranged from £5 to £8 15s; cows, £3 to £5 17s 6d each. Sheep in icerage supply, 1560 sold, were firm at late values; wethers ranged from Bs, to 14s 6d; ewes, 8s 3d to 12s; hoggetts, 7s6d to 8s 3d, ewes in lamb, 9a each. Pigs in short supply; heavy pigs brought from £2 to £'2 123 6d porkers, £1 each.

ELTHAM AND HAWERA. Messrs, Nolan, Tonks, and Co. report on June 18 :—At Eltham, on 14th inst, we had a fair entry, but little inquiry except for springiug heifers and dairy stock. At Hawera, on 17th inst., the quantity advertised came forward, Bidding for cattle other than springing heifera was very slack, while there was fair competition for sheep, yet we succeeded in disposing of moat line? before leaviug the yards. We quote :-At ElthamWeaner steers, Us to 17s: mixed weaners, Hβ to 14s _; cows and calves, £2 7s 6d to £2 10s; yearling steers, £1 to £1 8s; two-year-steers, £1 16s to £1 17s; empty cows, £1 12s to £1 16s; heifers in calf, £2 8s to £2 12s Cd; three-year springing heifers, £3 5s to £3 12s 6d; dairy eows, £4 to £4 10s, At Hawera: Weauers.lOs to 12s 6(1; yearling steers, £1 Is to £1 6s; two-year heifers, £1 8s 6d to £1 13s; yearling heifers, 18s to £1 Is; 2J to 3-year quiet heifers, £3 3e to £3 15s; dairy cows. £4 to £4 10s; cows and calves, £2 to £2 ss; etore cows, £1 11s to £1 15s; 2$ to 3-year steers, £216s to £3; twoyear steers, £118s to £2 2s; 3-year bullocks, £3 6s to £3 Bs. Sheep: Dry ewes, 4s 8d to 6s: wethers, 7s 9d to 8a 9d; ewes in lamb, a s 6d to 7s; cull wethera, 5s 4d.

PALMERSTON NORTH. Messrs. Abraham and Williams report, oo June 18.—Our sale on Saturday comprised a linn ot about 30 broken and unbroken hack* and lighter harness horaes, on account of Mr. J. R, McDonald, and some 30 others of very medium quality. The attendance was good and the bidding spirited, more especially for any animal showing a bit of weight, resulting in a total clearance of the lot, with the exception of three overpriced animals. Great disappointment was expressed at the non-appearance of the medium draughts advertised, which it appears was stopped by a heavy flood in the Otaki river, and will come forward on Saturday, 28th initant. There is a good demand for reliable heavy trap hones. We quote: Unbroken 3 and 4-year-olds, £2256 d to £5 15s; ditto, trap sorts, £7 to £10 sa; upstanding hacks, £4 10s to £6 2s 6d; weeds and small sorts, 30a to £3 7a 6(1; medium draughts (unguaranteed), £10 10 ato £162s Gil. Our sales this Jveek comprise Oolyton on Tuesday, and Pnlmerston yesterday. At Colyton we had a full entry of sheep and a few pens of cattle. Buyers were conspicuous by their absence, and the biddiug was lifeless, except for good sorts of ewes in lamb, which sold freely at recent rates. However, we managed to place the bulk of the entry before the end of theday. Weanere sold readily at an improvement on recent rates. At Palmeraton the entry of aheep was smaller than usual, and comprised chiefly store wethers and forward fat ewes. Wethers were in better demand than last week, and good skinned fat ewes improved on recent rates. Only two or three pens of cattle came forward. We quote aa under :—Colyton : Fat ewes (light weights), 7a 3d to 7s 9d; ewes in lamb, 8s 7d, 8s 10d, 9s 4d; Lincoln wethers,, 9s 3d to 9s 9d; mixed 2-tooth, 7s 9d; lambs, 4s to 5s 7d; weanere, las to 18s; 2-year mixed, £110s. Palmerston: Fat ewee, 7s 9J to 8s 10d; fat wethers, 10s 9d; etoro wethers, 7s Bd to 9.9; ewes in lamb, 7s 4d, 7a 9<l, 8a 9d: culls, 6s; small lambs, 2s 9d to 4a 10d; mixed weanere, 193 6d: springing cows, £310 ato £4 13s; springing heifers, £2 5s to £3; small porkers, Us 6d, .
