(if TKLKdHAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Napier, Wednesday. A meeting of unemployed was hold in the Council Chambers, today, and a petition si"ncd by eixty men was presented, showing that the labour market was very depressed, with no prospects of work being found. It was resolved to appeal to the Minister of Public Works for assistance. A resolution was paßse I representing the absolute unfairness of sending men from the South to work in this district, while tliore are a great many suitable men to be obtained here. Tho meeting also resolved to call the attention of the Government to the misleading reports as to tho state of tho labour market sent from this district.
