Yesterday being Aiceneion Day, there vert special services in (he Romfcn Catholic and Anglican Churches. At St. Paul'a there was Communion in the forenoon, and in the evening shortened evensong, conducted by Canon Nelson. There wm • good attendance. The following musical selections were given instead of a sermon u —Anthem, "Lift up Jour Heads" (Hopkins); solo, "Lift up Your Hearts" (Piccolomini), Mr. K. Buttery; eolo, "Lead, Kindly Light" (Pinsufci), Mrs. Coatee; anthem, "Leave Us Nob" (Sfcainer); eolo, "Come Unto Mβ" (Lindsay), Miss Mclntyre; anthem, "The Lord is Mi Strength" (Smart) j duet, Mies Bowring and Mr. Lewi?; eplo, " My Hopois in the Ererlaating" (Stainer), Mr. Martin; solo, " The Way of Peace" (Lloyd). Miss Ring; trio, "Lifb Thine Eyes" (Mendelssohn), Mrs, Coiites, Misses Boulton and Laing; anthem, "The Radiant Morn" (Woodward), Daring the offertory the organist (Mr. J. H. Philpott) played an organ solo as an offertoire piece. The offertory was in aid of tht Hawke'e Bay relief fund. At St. Sepulchre's there were two celebrations in tht forenoon, and in the evening a discourse by the Ven. Archdeacon Dudley. Canon Calder conducted the special services ao All Sain's', Ponsonby, which consisted of celebratidM of Communions in the forenoon, and evening prayer and sermon at night.
