It ia very pleasing to learn that out of the thousands of farmers in the<se colonies there is at least one whose gratitude for legislative assistance is not blunted by the fact that agricultural legislation ie usually passed when the people who are waiting for it are half or wholly ruined. Mr. James Dior, of Glenlyon, has written to the Victorian Minister for Land* as follows:—" I cannot allow this session to go by without thanking you and your mates for giving us the wire netting and cheap loan of money. I am in the colony since the Ballarat riots, and have seen many Governments in and out, and never heard or knew one that has conferred on the poor farmer to great a blessing as you and your partners have. May the blessing of God be on you all day and night. , *
