A meeting of the committee of theHawke's Bay Floods Relief Fund was held at the Municipal Chambers yesterday afternoon, Mr. John Abbott (hon. treasurer) presiding. It was shown that the total received by means of subscriptions and donations to date amounted to inclusive of the £250 recently remitted by the hon. treasurer, Mr. Abbott, to Mr. G. H. Swann, Mayor of Napier, and chairman of the executive of the central, body. • An acknowledgement of this amount was read by the treasurer, in the course of which Mr. Swann invited the Auckland Committee to convey thanks to the donors. Special reference was made to the amount collected by Mr. W. Robson, of Turanga Creek (£23105), whose returned list showed the moneys to have been obtained from farmers in a scattered district. It was decided to call the outstanding lists in on or before the 31st inst,, and the secretary (Mr. Albert J. Allom), together with ' another gentleman, was appointed to collect subscriptions from farmers on markot day, Mr. Abbott offerine to lend what assistance he could in this connection.
