MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Nellie (Whaugamata, March 5). -Crosscut No, 2: Total distauce driven, 120 feet. The country I am passing through is much the same as last reported; very heavy, mineralised, and, if auything, harder: water still continues to show in the face, and from the general surroundings a reef may be cut at any time/ No. 1 crosscut: The country in this drive has improved the last few feet, and is making very hrm, and looks well for carrying a reef. Inca (Wbangamata).—The drive on the main reef is in a total of 50 feet from the startiug point, The reef is fully five feet wide, and looks more like the Luck at Last reef than anything I have seen here yet. The quartz is of a sugary nature, interlaced with silica veins, a good indication for gold. The eastern or No. 2 crosscut: The country is of a good sannstoue description, but broken, which necessitates timbering. Great Northern (Waihi). - Driving through the reef: It is a solid body of stone 6lt wide, with well-defined walls, and where broken through on one side of the level shows splendid broivn sandstono country ahead. This country sandstone cannot be surpassed, and having but two defined bodies of stone since entering it clearly proves we are in a reef-bearing strata. Ccvieb Light (Coromaudel, B'obruary 28). Low level No*. 1 leader, going south : The country is hard and bad for ehooting, but continues favourable for gold; a little gold showing in the stone. No. 2 leader: A small leader was out on Friday last, so that I think tho No. 3 is close on hand. The country here is looking well and every indication that cs.u bo desired. Waipuko (Thames, February 27).—N0. 9 reef.—Tb.e country contiuues to bo of a very favourable nature, while the quartz is of a very taking appearance. The reef at present is five feet m width. No. 3 reef: I havo just cut this reef, after driving a distance of 37 feet. I am unable to say what the reef is like yet, but it appears to be very much broken up. City of Auckland (Thames, March I).— Rise from the Little Agnes low level to surface : I think in two or three days time we will have the riee through to the surface. Low level tuunel; We are near to the place where wo should out a reef in this drive. Hadraki Associated (Coromaudel, March 4).—The drive on footwall lead, Smithy level: There is a lead four inches thick crossing the face; it is dipping east and is well mineralised. The low level: The country is "ettiug tighter, and is well mineralised. Mata Reefs (Thames, March 3).-In going over the old workiuga, I discovered that by means of an old drive there, I can cut, in about 30 feet of driving, a reef, which at the outcrop is two feet wide, running uorth-cast aud south-west, and having the appearance of a strong, healthy lode. Have commenced to drive; the country being passed through is good class ot highlymineralised sandstone. MabCO Polo (Whangamata). — Crosscut for the intersection of the Uold water reef: A chiuyo for the better; the country still continues to be inter 3 ixetl with a considerable amount of auartz. The reef ought to be at hand at anytime now. Kino of Whangamata (Whangamata).— The crosscut: The country now being passed through consists of rich blue sandstone intermixed with mineral veins, and is better than any yet met with since starting the crosscut. Herald (Whangamata). — The tunnel: The reef should be in hand in another 7 feet of driving, which will be some time next next week. Albdrnia East (Thames).—North drive : The country is coming in very favourable, and the lode, which is now nine inches wide aud .shows signs of still further improvement! No. 1 or leading stope : The quartz previously stripped has been broken down. At this point the reef has widened out considerably, being between fovo aud three feet wide. Between five and six pounds of failpicked stone has been selected from the quartz broken down. Stripping the reef from the rise north and south is being carried ou. Wealth of Nations (Karangahake, March s).—Eastern trench has been extended a further distance of two chains. The western trench: A few quartz stringers have been cut. . . .
