WEDDINGS.
A quiet though pretty wedding took place Saturday week at St. Mary's.Pro-Cathedral, the happy pair being Mr. J. W. Kenderdine Webb and Miss Kenderdine, daughter of the late Dr. T. B. Kenderdine, of Auckland. The ceremony was performed by Canon Mac Murray. The bride was given away by Mr. J. Kenderdine, her eldest brother. She was dressed in cream corded popliu silk, trimmed with white chiffon, and wore a veil worked in silk, and carried a beautiful spray bouquet. The bridesmaids were Miss Hally Kenderdine (sister of the bride) who wore cream lustre trimmed with blonde lace and old gold ribbons, cream hat trimmed with lace and cream feathers, and carried a bouquet of yellow flowers tied with old sold ribbons j and Misses Brenda May Kenderdine and Iris Brutton Kenderdine (little neices of the bride), who were frocked in pretty cream lustre trimmed with soft lace and cream ribbons, and wore cream liberty silk picture hats lined with pale yellow. They carried baskets of flowers tied with cream ribbous. The best man was Mr. Broadhurst. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a massive gold bracelet, with the seal of the Webb familv attached ; to the first bridesmaid, a cable gold bracelet; and to the little ones, gold brooches, with the initial "W " in pearls. Afternoon tea was held at the residence of tho bride's mother, to which only the immediate relatives were invited. Mr. and Mrs. Kender-dine-Webb left for Cheltenham, England, via Sydney, in the s.s. Anglian, on Monday evening. The bride received a number of valuable presents. On Thursday last, a wedding occasioning some local interest took place at St. Matthias Church, Panmnre. namely, that of Mr Alfred Henry White (of T. and S. Morrin and Co.'s establishment) to Miss Lilian Hamlin, daughter of late Mr. J. M. Hamlin, of Panmure. The church was crowded on the occasion, many friends being from Auckland, and was tastefully decorated. The service was fully choral, Miss Brice presidingat the organ, and commenced with the singing of the hymn, " Jhe Voice that Breathed o'er Eden." Canon Oould was the officiating clergyman, and the bride was given away by her mother. The bride was richly attired in a white brocaded satin, and wore a wreath of orange blossoms and embroidered tulle veil. There were five bridesmaids, Misses Little (a cousin of the bride), A. Batger, A. Thorpe, and A. Morrin. They were dressed in white silk, white tulle hats to match, and carried crooks decorated with white ribbons and asters, Mr. J. Chambers, jnn., was best man. The guests, between 70 and SO, ware entertained at " afternoon tea,", at the residenc of the bride's mother, " Preston Hill," The wedding presents were numerous and valuable. The happy couple spend their honeymoon in the Lake Country. An interesting ceremony was performed on Friday, when Miss Amy Vaughan was married to Mr. Harry Baxter. Miss Vaughan, who has been before the New Zealand public for so long, will receive the congratulations of many friends. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Scott West, the only witnesses present being Mrs. Lodge and -Mr. T. Hocken.
