ANGLO-AMERICAN TREATY.
THE VENEZUELAN QUESTION.
SELECTION OF ARBITRATORS.
ENGLAND AND THE NICARAGUA CANAL. Press Asjocialion.-Electric 'leleerepli.-Copyiißtat. Washington, January 21, Sip. Julian Pauncefote, the British Ambassador here, lias informed the President that the Marquis of Salisbury is agreeable to the Venezuelan Government's nominating one of the arbitrators in the boundary dispute. Nothing has as yet been decided as to the selection, but it is probable that Dr. Fuller Chief Justice of the United States, and, one of the ablest jurists in America, will be asked to accept the position, and that Judge Brewer, one of the judges of the Supreme Court, will be the other arbitrator. Mr. Olney, Secretary of State, in referring to the arbitration Treaty, says its terms cover the dispute concerning the Nicaragua Canal.
