'. Pretoria, November 29. # The President, speaking at a ridiculed any breaoh of the convention, and said if it was the desire to have it changed it would bo done by legitimate' means. The indemnity, he said, would be limited to the actual expenses of the Transvaal, and he had no doubt the sum would be paid. The Volksraad's object was, he said, to avert the increase of trouble, and it was the duty of all to foster the mining industry.
