[dy TELEGRAPH.—PUESS association.] Wellington, Thursday, The adjourned half-yearly meeting of Shareholders of the Bank of New Zealand was hold this afternoon, Mr. Watson, president, said it was expected when they last adjourned that the legislation pending would have been completed. As it had not ib had been decided to recommend a further adjournment. Ho therefore moved that the meeting should be adjourned until Thursday, 29th instant. TIIO Hon. W. J. Johnston seconded the motion. In the course of a eliort- discussion which followed, Mr. G. F. McLean expressed the opinion that the hanking legislation reflected very little credit on the Government and others concerned, and said the shareholders had been afforded too little oppor tunity of expressing any opinion upon it. The motion to adjourn was then put and agreed to, the meeting occupying only a few minutes.
