No traces of poison were found about the place, but a portion of some oranges was found in which lie in supposed to have taken poison.' In his pocket was a letter addressed to his wife, in which he states that 'This is, the. besb and only thing for me. lam mad.' It was signed'Hillary.' At the inquest on Monday, the 14th of Sept., the jury returned a verdict ' That deceased committed suicide by taking strychnine while he was of unsound mind.' " George Simson, better known as Jimmy Stewart, a labourer, committed suicide on Sept. 4 at Arrowtown by shooting himself with a revolver. He was of an eccentric disposition, and sab before a looking-glass when committing tho deed.
