A solemn requiem mass was celebrated yesterday morning, at nine o'clock, at St. Patrick's Cathedral, in commemoration! of the anniversary of Bishop Luck's consecration. FathorLuck, of Kihikihi (the doceased Bishop's brother), was the celebrant, mid the Vory Rev. Father Lonihan, Administrator of the dioceso, officiated as deacon, and Father Purton as sub-deacon, A large number of the clergy were in the sanctuary. Thore was a large congregation. The choir rendered the music of the mass, insisted Dy Dr. Egan, 0.5.8., Father Kehoe. and some members of tho Opera Company. A meeting of the Coastal Seamen's Union will be held at Waters' Coffee Palace, Queenstreet, this evening, on business of importance. Elsewhere is notified the prizes for competition at Hazard's Shootin,' Gallery. The fifteenth annual meeting of the Northern Hoot and . Shoe Manufacturing Company (Limited) will be held at the Company's offices, flabson-street on the 2nd September at 3 p.m. The transfer books will be closed from the 19th iust, to the 2nd prox.
