At the kennels, Walrus headed sultan, who immediately afterwards retired, leaving Walrus to lead round the tup turn, just clear of Silver King, St. liliuO, Sam, and Ulster, with War Dance coining fast. Once in the straight Docility drew away from Lobo, hut Social Pest catching the leader after: the last fence had been negotiated, went on and won by three lengths from Docility, who defeated Lobo by five lengths fur second position, with Zanzibar fourth. At Cutts' Nat increased his lead, and as they ran down the back stretch was 29 lengths in front of Narrateand Gillie, with Liberator still whipping in. The last-named struck the first fence of the kennels double hard, and lost a great deal of ground, and at the sod wall Donald MeKinnon fell, leaving Nat to go round the top clear of the others, who commenced to close up, and were still headed by Narrate and Gillie. As they lauded in the straight Mutiny co»menced to go through, and as they swept past the stand was within a couple 0 lengths of Nat, while Narrate fell ,anf booties went on third from Gillie. Passing Cutts' Mutiny superseded Nat, who then commenced to loose ground and gave way to Gillie as they ran down the back stretch, while Booties was fourth, some distance in front of Xynts 11. and Liberator. By the time the Kennels Were reached Mutiny and Gillie had drawn right away from the others, who' were headed by Nat and Booties, while, Liberator refused, and was not persevered with; Mutiny was still leading as.they swept round the top.turn, and although Gillie momentarily appeared'to be closing up as they landed in the straight Mutiny easily held his position, and negotiating the last fence safely won easily by ten lengths from Gillie, with Booties thirty lengths away third, just in front of Cyrus 11., while Nat was the only other horse to finish. Going down thrt back stretch Victor increased Ills advantage, and although Undesirable Bill passed Boneen at the Kennels and closed on the leader slightly at the top turn Victor held bis position In the straight and won by twelve lengths from Undesirable Bill, with Rahi, who had passed Boneen in the last half mile a similar distance away third, lime, 4m. aojs. Rawai ran down the front fence, and collided with Chris, and the pair unseating their riders, left Armstrong to come on in front of Kangipanehu and Barnardo to the stand, while the Joker blundered, and his rider momentarily lost control of his horse. At Cutts 1 , Armstrong wad still in command, with Outrain next, while Rangipunehu refused. Armstrong performed a similar operation at the wall opposite Ford's, and Outram falling, left Barnardo with a commanding lead of Armstrong, who had been got over, while the Joker, some distance in the rear, was the only other horse being nerwend with. At the kennels, Barnardo' refused and Armstrong again taking command, negotiated the remainder of the course in safety, and won by five lengths from the Joker, who passed Barnardo in the straight, and defeated him by 30 lengths for second position.
