"A GAIETY GIRL:'
The members of Williamson and 11 usgrove's Royal Comio Opera Company commence their season iu Auckland at the Opera House this evening, with the first representation in Auckland of the much talked-of musical comedy ' A Gaiety Uirl. 1 The lyrics of 'A Gaiety Girl,' which was excodingly well received when it was presented at the Prince of Wales' Theatre, London, in Octobor, 1893, were written by Mr. Harry Greetibanks, the libretto being by Owen Hall, and the music by Sydney Jones. There is a distinct plot traceable through the play of a most interesting character. A contemporary says that) it it Gilbertian in its piquancy, and wholly attractive for its eporbiveness with the silk and golden threads of love and banter, romance and nonsense, thinly woven into a quaint, fantastic pattern through the elegant web of the whole material. The pioco is to bo mounted in 'The Firm's' most lavish style.
