DEATH OF SIR HENRY PARKES.

Press Aisociation.-EleotricTelegTap'D.-CopirrigM. . Sydney, April 27. Sir H. Parkes died at half-past four a.m., the immediate cause of death being failure of the heart's action. The only persons with him at the time were his wife and the Misses Parkes.

At midnight a change for the worse set in, and the heart woakened. Restoratives were applied, and the venerable statesman rallied, but it was only temporary, and he gradually sank to a peaceful end. Towards tho last he was unable to speak. He recognised his wife, but none of the others at the bedside.

His death, although not unexpected, has created a profound impression in the city. In accordance with the expressed wish of himself and family Sir Henry Parke3 will be buried privately at Fantion Bridge, Blue Mountains, beside his first wife (Miss U. Varney). The funeral takes place on Wednesday.
