At midnight a change for the worse set in, and the heart woakened. Restoratives were applied, and the venerable statesman rallied, but it was only temporary, and he gradually sank to a peaceful end. Towards tho last he was unable to speak. He recognised his wife, but none of the others at the bedside.
His death, although not unexpected, has created a profound impression in the city. In accordance with the expressed wish of himself and family Sir Henry Parke3 will be buried privately at Fantion Bridge, Blue Mountains, beside his first wife (Miss U. Varney). The funeral takes place on Wednesday.
