The Union Company's steamer Upolu, Captain N. Beaumont, arrived from Oamaru and Napier yesterday afternoon with a cargo of produce from the former port. Mr. W. Wafker, the chief ollicer, reports that the steamer left Oamaru on Thursday and reached Napier at 7 in. on Saturday. Left again at 2 a.m. oil Sunday, and arrived at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. From Oamaru to Napier moderate variable winds and thick, dirty weather prevailed; thence line weather to arrival. The Upolu leaves for Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, and Sydney to-morrow evening, calling iu at Russell for coal. This evening the Northern Company's steamer Clansman leaves for Russell, Wluv ligaroa, and Mangonui. At eight o'clock to night the Northern Company's steamer Wellington leaves for Whangarei. The Huddart-Parker steamer Tasmania leaves for Sydney at seven o'clock this evening. This evening the Northern Company's steamer Waiotahi leaves for Tauranga and Dpotiki. On Thursday the Union Company's Steamer Dingadee leaves Wellington for this port via the usual East Coast ports. At twelve o'clock night the Northern Company's steamer iona leaves for the Great Barrier. The barque Excelsior is loading at Sydney for Fiji. Captain Henderson has resumed charge of the vessel. ~ At Newcastle the barque Hannah Nicholson is to load coal for Coromandel. The barquentine Coquette sailed from Pvockhampton for Newcastle on March 17. On March 20 the schooner Ocean Rover sailed from Bulli for Gisborne with a cargo of coal. The barque Phonizia now on her way to Capetown from Hamburg, proceeds to the Friendly Islands to load copra for Europe. A telegram from Cape Maria Van Diemen states that a small steamer passed Cape Reinga on Sunday evening with a barque in tow. The steamer will probably be the p.s. Te Arolia from Hokianga to this port. The scow Eclipse, bound North, was still windbound at Marsden Point yesterday. Yesterday the Colonial Sugar Refining Company's steamer Fiona arrived at Sydney from this port. H.M.s. Rapid arrived at Lytteltou from Westport yesterday. THE ANGLIAN. The Huddart-Parker steamer Anglian, Captain C. E. Hood, arrived froniiSydney at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. Mr. A. Cetutty, the purser, to whom we are indebted for our files, reports: The Anglian left Sydney Wharf at 6 p.m., and cleared the Heads at 7 p.m., on the Ist mat. Had the Three Kings abeam at 8 p.m., and rounded the North Cape at midnight on the sth, and arrived as above. For the first two days after leaving Sydney had Strong E.S.E ; winds and high sea, changing to light S.E. winds, smooth seas, and : occasional squalls to arrival. The Autrlian proceeds to East Coast and Southern ports , at 1 o'clock this afternoon.

THE AVIUNI. . . The Union Company's steamer Taviiini, Captain R. E. Smith, arrived from Sydney, via the Islands, at half-past eleven o'clock last night, having the barque Woosung in tow. Mr. J. H. C. Bond, the purser, to whom we are indebted for late papers and our Inland despatches, reports: —The Taviuni left the company's wharf. Margaretstreet, Sydney, at '2 p.m. 011 March 12th, and arrived at Suva on the 21st ult. Left the same day at 10 p.m., and called at Mango on the'-2nd. Passed heiafou on the 23rd, and arrived at Samoa at 10 p.m. ou the 24th. Discharged and left Samoa at 4 p.m. 011 the 25th; worked Vavau on the 27th, Haapai on the 2Sth, and reached Tonga at 8.30 a.m. on the 29th. Discharged cargo and loaded bananas 011 the 30th, and on the morning of the 31st, and finally* took our departure from Tonga at 1.30 p.m. on the 31st for Auckland. On the voyage fresh N.E. wind and head sea were experienced from Sydney to Suva; thence to Samoa light easterly wind and fine weather. From Samoa had light S.H. wind through the Islands and until the 2nd instant, when the wind changed, and moderate northerly and N.W. winds were experienced until the 4th; thence a southerly wind until the sth, followed by a fresh westerly breeze, which lasted to arrival. The Taviuni will commence discharging this morning, and will be then floated into the Auckland dock lor overhaul. THE FLORA. The Union Company's steamer Flora, from Southern and East Coast ports, is due late to night, and returns South on Thursday afternoon. THE DEVON PORT. The barque Devonport, from Newcastle with a cargo ot coal tor Mr. J. J. Craig, was reported in the Gulf last night, but baa not made the harbour up to an early hour tins morning. THE INDRAMAYO. Yesterday the Tyscr steamer Imlramayo arrived at Melbourne from London. On discharge of cargo she proceeds to Sydney, and then comes on to this port, and then visits the various southern ports to load for London. ____ THE MATAURA. The New Zealand Shipping Company's new steamer which has been recently launched has been specially built of steel for the conveyance of frozen meat and general cargo between this colony and London, is schooner rigged, and constructed on Lloyd's three-deck rule to the highest class in their register. The refrigerating machinery has been supplied by the Linde British Refrigerating Company (Limited), ol London, and is on their ammonia system. The dimensionsof the steamer are 421 feet by ;>li feet by 32 feet, and she will carry about S4OO tons. She was built by Messrs. Barclay, Curie, and Co. (Limited), of Whiteinch, Glasgow, and as she left the ways on 15th February last was named the Mataura. Iho engines are 011 the triple-expansion principle, with Howden's forced draught, and were manufactured by the builders of the steamer. THE NEW TYSER STEAMER. The Tyscr Company's new steamer Indraghiri, now building at Connell's yard 011 the Clyde, was expected to leave London for Australia, Auckland, and Wellington this month. Captain Firth, late of the Indramayo, is to command the new steamer, and Captain Saunders, of the Indrapurn, litis taken Captain Firth's place on the ludiv mayo. _____ THE lONIC.
