The Northern Co.'s steamer Waiotahi arrived from Whangarei on Saturday night. She leaves for Taurauga and Opotiki at 5 p.m. to-morrrow. On Saturday night the Northern Co.'s steamer Argyle arrived from Mercury Bay andKuaotunu. Yesterday the Northern Co.'a steamer lona arrived from Opotiki and Ohiwa. She leaves for the Great Barrier to-morrow at midnight. The Northern Co.'s steamer Douglas arrived from Whangarei yesterday morning, and leaves for the same place again tomorrow evening. On Saturday morning the French cruiser Scorffleft for Noumea. The Union Company's steamer Taupo left for Wellington on Saturday afternoon. Yesterday the schooner Aratapu sailed for Mercury Bay to load timber for Wellington. On Saturday the scow Eclipse and cutter Henry were sheltering at Marsden Point. The barquentine Adelaide has sailed from Newcastle for the Thames with a cargo of coal.

THE TASMANIA.

Yesterday morning the Huddart-Parker [ steamer Tasmania, Captain T. McGee, arrived from Southern, East Coast ports, after a pleasant passage of 22 hours from Gißborne. Mr. N. Corless, the purser, reports S.s. Tasmania left Duuedin on the .Slat March, Lyttl'lton on the Ist inst., Wellington on the 2nd, Napier on the 3rd, and Gisborne on the 4th at 11.45 a.m., and arrived at 10 a.m. yesterday. Experienced moderate variable winds and rainy misty weather until arrival at Gisborne; thence to arrival variable winds and fine weather. The Tasmania leaves for Sydney at 7 p.m. to- morrow.

The Northern Company's steamer Gairloch arrived at Onehunga at four a.m. yesterday morning from New Plymouth with passengers, two racehorses, and general cargo. The Government steamer Hinemoa arrived from Hokianga yesterday, with a cargo of piiriri sleepers.
