AUCKLAND. MESSRS. HUNTER AND NOLAN'S! WEEKLY REPORT.

Horse feed, grain, seeds: The supply has been sufficient for requirements. We quote: Maize, 2s lid to 3s la; oats, Is lOd to 2s 3d; bran, £4 10s per ton; oaten chaff, £215 ato £3. ton; small lots, 3s (3d to 4s cwt; ryegrass, 3s to 49 6d bushel; Poverty Bay ryegrass, 6d; cocksfoot, 5s 9d to 7s 3d; fowl wheat, 3s 9d bushel..

Horses: Increased numbers have been brought forward, and amongst them Dome of a good stamp, which realised improved values. _ A large number were disposed of by auction on Friday at the Durham Yards. Competition was good throughout the sale. We quote Medium and heavy draught at from £11 153 to £25; light harness, £4 10a to £11 los; hacks, £315s to £il 15s; weeds, 15s to 30s. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones: Average quantities were pitched at the Durham Yards on Wednesday. We quote: Heavy ox, 5d to 6d; medium to stout, 3Jd to4Jd: steer and cow,; 2£d to 3£d; calf skins, 2Jd to 3d; bone's, £2 15s ton; tallow, 16a to 17s 6d cwt; sheepskins, Is 2d to 2s lOd each ; pelts, Is to 2s Id. Wool: Fleece, to 6|d. uattle; Thero has been a slightly unproved demand for fat and dairy stock, and a slack one for stores. The supply was ample for requirements. The butchers pens at Mewmarket on Tuesday were well filled, and competition was good throughout the sale, and unusually even values ruled. Dairy cows plentiful, sold at from £3 10s to £6 10s; ox beef, 19s to £1 ; cows, 17s to 19s 1001b ; steers sold at from £5 15s to £8 12s 6d ; cows, £3 5s to £610s. Sheep wero in full numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday, and fully maintained the preuious week's values. Wethers sold at from 6s 9d to 13s 9d each; ewes, 5s 6d to 9s 3d; store ewes, 3s Sd to ss; lambs, 6s 6d, Pigs more plentiful, porkers sold at from 16s 6u to £1 6s each.

MESSES. ALFRED DOCKLAND AND SONS 1 WEEKLY REPORT.

At the Hay market meadow hay has sold from 2s 3d to 3s 3d; oaten sheaves, 2s 6d to 2s 9d; bran, 4s Gd; pressed hay, 4s 6d and 4s; potatoes, 3s; sharps, 5s cwt; oats, 2s to ?s 3d; maize, 3s Id; cocksfoot, G3 Gd: ryegrass, 4s, 58, aud Os; prairie grass, 5s bushel; Cliewin's fescue, lid; rattail, lid; white clover, lid; red clover, 8d; cowgrass, 9d; alsyke, 9d lb. On Friday horse stock, in usual supply, sold more freely than on the previous week : A heavy draught gelding brought £'25; medium draught, from £9 to £12 10; First Nelson, £10. On Wednesday, hides and skins sold freely, fully equalling last week's quotations. At the cattle Bales, held respectively at Pokeno mid Drury, there was little demand, the dry weather preventing bidding. Many pens, particularly calves, remained unsold : Heifers ranged from £3 to £4 los ; cows, up to £6; weaned calves, 12s to £1 5s each. At Rcmuera on Thursday dairy cows at prolit yarded in less number than usual, were required aud bought up to £8; store cattle limited to a few dry cows kept their late value; fat. calves plentiful were at moderate prices. Fat cattle of tirst-class quality were yarded in excess of requirements aud were lower than last week, about 10s each, near ?'X) varde.i and all sold Fat and store sheep abundant, 2000 yarded; ewes foil back to the low values of a month since. Fat wethers ranged from 8s to 13s; ewes, 4s 9d to 9s each; lambs in moderate supply barely kept late values, prices ranged from 2s 9d for stores to 7s for best fatted pens. Pigs in moderate supply were required and sold fairly well.

MESSRS. G. W. BINNFY AND SONS' REPORT On Wednesday we offered an extra large catalogue of hides, sheepskins, tallow, bones, etc. Hides: For cow hides a brisk demand exists; brisk lines, 3Jd to 3)jd ; medium, 3d; others, 2jfd to I\<\; calf, 2Jd to 3Jd ; kip, 2d to 2.^1. Prime extra stout ox up to 7d ; extra, fxl to 54d ; stout, 4d to 4J|d ; medium, 3Jd to 3fd ; light, 2Jd to 3d lb ; damaged, nominal. Sheepskins: Local green aud country salted from Is 6d for small to 2s 4d for large ; the bulk of sales from IsOd to 2s 2d ; country dry, dull of sale. On account of the damage done by weevils we again urge constituents to salt all skins. Dry full-woollcd from 4d to 5Jd lb. Wool: Lam Pis', from Gd to 6Jd ; fleece, Gd to 7.M ; pieces, 4d to od; locks and pieces, 2Jd tolijdlb. Tallow : Best lines, 17s ; medium, 14s to 15s; inferior, 10s to 12s cwt. Bones: Ordinary, 60s ton ; shanks, £3 10s to £4 ton, Bonedust: Dull of sale on account of tl.e dry weather. We quote: Emu, £5 us toil ; other brands, £.') to £5 ton. Hams and bacon : " Morcpork " brand advanced id lb, with prospcct of further advance.

NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY company (limited). Auckland Wool Storks, March 18. Tuesday being St. Patrick's Day, the weekly auctions by the associated brokers were postponed till Wednesday. We submitted a largo catalogue, and found prices firm. Hides: In good demand, mose especially prime stout ox and cow. Prime stout ox sold up to GJd lb; heavy stout, from 5d to 5Jd : medium, to 3Jd ; heavy cow brought up to 3Jd; light and medium from 2£d to 2jfd ; calf sold up to 3d. Sheepskins: Pelts, 8(1 to 2s 4d. Full woolled, 3s lid to 5s 3d. Lambs wool: GJd.

ELTHAM AM) HAWERA.

Messrs. Nolan, Tonks, & Co. report:— At Eltham, on Tuesday, we had a large entry of cattle, Bidding throughout was fairly brisk, resulting in most of the lines changing hands. At Hawera, on Thursday, only a small entry of cattle came forward. More than the average number of sheep were yarded. Bidding for cattle was dull, hut all the sheep sold with the exception of two pens, We quote : —At Eltham: Hand-fed weaners, 14s to £1; yearlings, mixed, £1 4s to £1 ss; 12 to 18 months steers, £2 Is to £2 ss; 2-year steers, £2 10s to £2 14s; yearling heifers, £1 ss; cows and calves, £2 14s Gil to £3 Is; 18-mouths to 2-year heifers, £1 14s to £118s; store cows, £2 2s 6d to £2 10s; fat cows, £3 78 6d to £3 10s; store ewes, 3s 9d. At Hawera: Weaners, £1 Is to £1 4s; calves, 12s to 16s 6d; 18-months steers, £2 53 to £2 7s; yearling heifers, £1 ss; store cows, £2 4s to £2 7s; fat cows, £3 12s Gd; 2j|-year heifers, £2 8s to £210s. PALMERSTON NORTH. Messrs. Abraham and Williams report on March Since last report we have had a fall list of sales, with heavy yardings of sheep; these remain without alteration in value. A steady demand exists for good lambs, suitable wethers, and sound ewes. In all cases prices are guided by the quality of the wool, strong Lincoln being generally desired. Cattle have proved dull. The entries for the week have been small, and at all places a declining tone has prevailed. MANAIA. Tub Eomont Farmers' Union (Limited), Hawera, report on March 12The yards wero fairly well filled with stock at Manaia on Wednesday. Bidding was pretty brisk throughout, bo that a number of the lines ohanged hands before leaving the yards. We quote : Forward steers, £3 17s to £415s 6d; yearlings, £1 4s to £1 8s; forward cows, £2 15s to £219 a Gd; weaners, 15s; eighteen months to two-year heifers, £2 to £2 ss; pigs, slips, 7s; store cows, £114s to £2 2s.
