THE RODNEY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The annual meeting of the Rodney Agricultural Society was held in the Masonic Hall, Wnrkwurth, on March 14, at two p.m. There was only a scant attendance, twelve members being present. Mr. A. Campbell presided, and as treasurer read the balanceBheeo', which showed the income from all sources to be £121 2s 2d, from which had to be deducted unpaid subscriptions £11 4s, leaving a net amount of £109 18s 2d. The expenditure and liabilities amounted to £122 13s 3d. showing a deficiency of £13 5s Id. This deficiency might be reduced when the subscriptions promised were paid, and if some goods which had been given by merchants for prizes for the previous year could he realised, the balauce-sheet might then show a small balance in favour of the society. This had been made up to the Friday evening, and had not been audited. Mr. Croker moved, and Mr. Hunt seconded. "That the balance-sheet as read be adopted, subject to audit." Carried unanimously. The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with. Moved by Mr. W. An?ove, seconded by Mr. Campbell. " That Mr. Lushington be president." Carried unanimously. Moved by Mr. Hunt, seconded by Mr. Trotter, "That Mr. Holgate be asked to be vice-president." Carried. Mr. Such was duly elected treasurer, and Messrs. W. Angove, P. Thomson, Sainsbury, Hood, and Such were elected members of committee for \V ark worth, aud Messrs. Carrie, Croker, Richards, Sankey, aud Trotter members for Matakana. On the motion of Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Sankey, it was decided that the prizes remaining unpaid should bo paid at the Matakaaa Library this day fortnight (March 28). Proposed by Mr. Angove, seconded by Mr. Trotter, and carried, "That a 'mug' uow in the hands of the society should be handed to Mr. Jordan," who, it seems, was entitled to it as a special prize for butter, when the meeting terminated.-{Own Correspondent,]
