Napikb, Wednesday The weather was again magnificent for the second day of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's Meeting, The attendance was large, and the racing good. £5794 was put through the totalisator. The following are the results

When the fluid fairly settled down, Acone, Martyrdom, and Musketeer were leading, but the first named was soon in trouble, and Retribution took third place. When fairly in the straight, Blarney came away from his field, and despite the efforts of Retribution and Martyrdom, lie won easily by a length from the first named, who just beat Martyrdom. Hollo Clair had the worst of the start, Torpina anil Forest King being the quickest on their fegs, with Bloodshot and Ariuilla in close attendance. When rounding tho turn before entering the straight, Bloodshot had dropped into second place, while Hip Van Winkle and Belle Clair were improving their position. When fairly in the straight, it looked in though Torpina would got home, as he wan going strongly, lint within a chain Bloodshot hail collared him, and soon settled his chances. Opposite the second stand Armilla came with a strong run, hut could not get up, Bloodshot winning by a couple of lengths from her, the Auckland (illy just heating Itiu Van Winkle. Hutering the straight, Heavenly Twin was still in front going strong, while Flying Shot had got into second place, with Tileuse and Lotion lying close up.
