King Humbert has proclaimed an extensive amnesty of political offenders in order to divert public attention from events in Abyssinia. Rome, March IS. Menelik has agreed to permit the evacuation of Adigrat with military honours. He stipulates that Tirgre shall become independent. The Italian populace resent the imposition of conditions.
