A REMARKABLE BRIDGE.
Some " considerable distance" south of Auob land, and "quite a large number" imles north of Wellington stands a bridge. It is entitled to be called a remarkable bridge. It is on the direct road to, and only a short. distauce from, Ngowkrematikura. VVhen it was discovered by a party of natives, the leader of the party exclaimed, Homaik.iraiki!" And, after many years, it is still called by the natives " Watapiti. And so it is a pity 1 No doubt a, reason was given for its construction at the time, and the men who were instrumental in devotinjpublio money to such works, would look well gibbetted in chains on the same bridge, the-only drawback being that no one would see them. The same amount of money, nay, half that sum invested in Vanity Fair Cigarettes would bring happiness and enjoyment to our adult malepor-n^tioM
