Mining Notices. Big reef proprietary SYNDICATE, COMPRISING THIS PURU AND BIG REEF SPECIAL CLAIMS, WITH AN AREA OF 142 ACRES. This property Is situated up the Puru Creek, anil is about nine miles out of the Thames. The biggest known reel in Now Zealand, viz., 450 feet in thickness, traverses the property. Mr. J. It. ltlaikie, of Auckland, Touches for the size of this reef, as he has himself measured it. As>ays lakon (mm different parts of this hugo formation have gone from 6j to £4 to the ton. _ If the problem of low mile oro and large reefs is to bo successfully solved, nil the conditions are to ho found in connection with this property, whero no shafts require to bo sunk, no levels to be driven, no timber required for mining purposes, and where expensive machinery will not bo required for pumping. A machine site and water-race sufficient to drive 100 head of stamps have also been acquired. It is the intention of the Syndicate to place this property on the Londoi. market; in f ict, negotiations hive nlre idv been commenced. Hie Syndicate comprises 12il shares, of which it lias been decided to placo 12, at £30 per share, to provide enough capital to pay for reports and plans, and do a certain amount of work on the reef.
