The sun w*« very powerful in the earlier portion of the afternoon, but a change took place after the second race. The attendance as quite equal to the previous day. Hova executed a phenomena) run in the All-Aged Stakes, when Newh'aven appeared to have that race at his mercy, and he covered the last six furlongs in lm. 15s. Mr. W. R. Wilson's Cydnils displayed beautiful action in the Unplaced Two-year-old Stakes, swinging home with Ion? sweeping strides. Owing to burly conditio!} Cvdnus ran comparatively unbacked, giviug the majority of penclllers a skinner. In the Steepleohase there was a long series of mishaps. One after another the horses fell until only Qufoklight and Grandwing Were left in the race, and at the third fence from home the former also came to grief, lartuffo sustained such severe injuries that he had to be destroyed. The colours of Cohort, Ena, and Orpheline were the first to show in front, but at the tan crossing the stable companions, Interlude and Barleycorn, held command, with Spindrift coming fast, and the latter led on to the oourse proper from Interlude, after whom oame Ena and Silverlocks. The positions were tnuoh the same to the halfdistanoe, where Cydnus swept up on the outside and won easily by three quarters of a length, half a length between second and third, then came Interlude, Miss Carbine, Crease, and Cohort, with Orpheline last, No time cabled. Up the river side, Trentside led from Lord Richmond, Music, and Preston, while Warpaint was last. As the field approached the home turn, the latter began to move up, and at the turn, he was with the leaders. Just inside the distance. Warpaint had wrested the lead from Chesterman, and here The Enchanter, who had got into a bad position rounding into the straight, made a great effort to got up, and though he passed Chesterman, he could not quite reach Warwaint, who won by a short head, Chesterman three lengths away third, Preston fourth, Lord Riohmond fifth, Miraculum sixth, Music last. Time, 2in. 40s. The last six furlongs were run in lm. 17fs. The Steeplechase, a handicap sweepstakes of Ssovs each with SOOsovs added j second horse, 50 sovs, and the third, 25 sovß out of the stake. On settling down Auraria took un the running trom Quiver and Hova, and held the lead until passing the milo post where Quiver assumed command, and the daughter of Trenton went on half-a-lengtli in advance of Hora, Quiver maintained her advantage to the entrance to the straight ; but when fairly in the home stretch, a desperate struggle ensued, Hova forging past in the last naif furlong, and won by three-quarters of a length. O'Trlgger seven lengths away was third, and Auraria bad last. Time, 3m. 7fs. The Farewell Handicap, a sweepstakes of fisovs each, with 150sovs added; second horse SOaovs out of the stake. Homespun took command as they 1 entered the straight, winning cleverly by three quarters of a length, the same distance between second and third, then camo Disfigured. Mr, Wilson having determined to give Wallace a spell, the son of Carbine was withdrawn from the All-aged Stakes and Loch Plate.
