BANKRUPTCY.
A meeting of the creditors of Pierce Lankan was held at the office of the Official Assignee yesterday afternoou, Mr. Lawsou presiding. The followiug gentlemen were present, boBides the bankrupt and his solicitor (Mr. Brassey): Messrs. Leers (for J. A. Lyall), Aicken (for self, M. Niccol, L. D. Nathan and Co., 11. Gold water, J. J. Craig, andE. Coleman). The Official Assignee stated that as the investigation of the affairs of tho bankrupt had not yet been completed, an adjournment would be necessary. Mr. Brassey explained the reasons which led Mr. Lauigan to file, and stated that his client had no desire to throw any any obstacles in the way of the investigations. He would not have filed had he not been forced to do si by the action of Mr. Tole, one of the credi tors. It was decided to adjourn till a data to be fixed by Mr. Lawson.
