BUCKLAND AND SONS' SHEEP FAIR.

The annual sheep fair, conducted by Messrs# A. Bucklaud aud Sons, at their Remuersl yards, was opened yosterday with the sale for ewes, wethers, and lambs; and, although the number of sheep penned was small as compared with previous ones, the bidding was so spirited that every lot was disposed of. Only one lot was reserved during thei sale, aud that was disposed of immediately after the sale. The show was diminished some* whatiuquantity, although perhaps not inquality, by the absence of 2000 sheep expected I from the Matamata estate which did nob | arrive. The sheep penned were of the usual description—good, bad, and indifferent. For good ewes and wethers there was a brisk demand, and a fine pen of ewes belonging to--Mr. McElwain, and bred from Mr. C. Barriball's flocks, topped the market at 17s each. Mr. Alfred Bucklaud, junior, conducted the sale, and the following are the results' J. Bull: 21 ewes, Is 9d, H. Alexander. W, F.
