[BY TELEGRAPH.-- ASSOCIATION.] WeimngtoNj Sunday. At the request of & large dumber of settlers Mr. Lawry, &H.R. for Parriell, interviewed the Miniaor of Agriculture respecting the provisims of the Stock Driving Act passed ast session, Mr. Lawry pointed out the ibjectldnable nature of tho measure if stricly enforced. The Minister in reply said tie object of the Act was to prevent sheep md cattle stealing, and not to interfere witlteettlers or butchers removing stock from snliyardspr paddocks, He also Said that a ciruilar would bo sent to the Inspectors of the Stock Department Instructing them to Infom settlers that the intention was to protectand not to Harass the stockowners of brie cilony.
