AWITU REGATTA.
Ihe A wit Regatta took place on Boxing Day, but owing to there being little or no wind the sidling was reduced to a drifting match. There were about 500 people present, and as the day was very fine all enjoyed themselves. The steamers Weka and Falcon brought over 400. visitors from Ouehunga, amount whom were < to be seen the members of the Ouehunga Fire Brigade. All went off successfully and without accident or hitch. The owners of the falcon placed that steamer during the day at the disposal of the regatta committee, who availed themselves of this kindness, and the little vessel was kept busily engaged running hither and thither with parties from the wharf. The following is the result of the different events :— . Trading Cutters: 1 Daphne, S. V, Coulthard, 1. Decked Centre Board: Anahera, D. Sutherland, 1; Wild Duck. F. Wills, 2. Open Centre Board Boats: Elsie, F. Brook, 1; Mmy, 2. Open Keel Boats : May, 1. Whaleboat Race Crew of the 8.8. Weka, 1. Men's Punt Race: Robinson, 1; Sharman, 2.
