THE FIRE ON THE KANIERI.

The fire on tho Northern Company's steamer Kanieri at Onehunga, particulars of which appeared in Saturday's Herald, was suppressed after considerable exertions, being confined to the engine-room. Mr. C. Ranson, the manager of the company, made an examination of the steamer on Saturday morning, and gave instructions for tho necessary repairs to be carried out at once, Tho damage is estimated at about £300, and it is expected that the Kanieri will resume hor running in about ten days' time.
