SCOTCH EXPRESS DERAILED.

A shocking accident happened at half-past I twelve on Sunday morning, November 10, at j St. Neots, on the Groat Northern Railway, j . to. the Scotch express which left King's .. Cross at half-past cloven on the previous Saturday night. St. Neofca, in Huntingdonshire, is fifty-one and a half miles from London, and the train travelled all right until within forty yards of tha platform of . , when owing toa rail breaking one of the coaches in the middle of the express . left the metals, and ploughed through the permanent way. When fcho couplings became disconnected the hind portion dashed away to the loft into a row of loaded coal waggons on a siding, and so terrific was the impact that the first coach was smashed, the roof being taken off and laid on the top of two overturned coal waggons, while the flooring was half-way through the following coach, which was wrecked. A young lady, Miss O'Harn, of 10, Crouch Hall Road, Crouch End, London, was killed, and five other persons wore seriously injured, viz. '-Mr. Wm. Hill Corrie, of Ashwood, Woking, merchant— knees and three ribs broken. Dr. G. J. E. Trotter, of Standrop, Darlington—concussion of the brain. Mrs, Macgregor, bister of the deceased lady—loft leg broken and scalp wound, Mr. Sydney ••Carter,.'of Rodney House, Newcastle-oil- :: Tyno, provision merchant-very badly cub and-knees-bruised. .Mr.. F. Cavendish ' Bentinck, of 16, field-street, Londonrib broken and severe shock. The first pot out from the wrecked carriage was Miss. O'Hara, quite dead.
