THE MOTUROREA YEARLINGS.
The third annual sale of Motukoron. yearlings will be held this afternoon nt Brown's Island Ten youngsters are to bo offered, and will be sold without reserve. Some of die yearlings are exceptionally choke, and all are highly bred, well grown, and a credit to their breeders, Messrs.' Alison Bros., who have a well-selected stud of twelve matrons. The list of lots to be offered appears in an advertisement in our issue of to-day, and is worthy of perusal by racing men and intending purchasers of thoroughbred stock. A steamer leaves the Ferry Tee this afternoon at 1.30 sharp, and will return so as to land passengers back at 5.30. The trip to Brown's Island is a pleasant one, being smooth WAter, and not far distant, and it is anticipated that there will be a good attendance of buyers and fair competition. All those who have seen the stock to be sold are profuse in praising both the quality and size of the youngsters to be offered. There is no doubt but that the Auckland climate is especially suited for the rearing of thoroughbreds, and the thorough manner in which our local breeders rear and attend to their stock is deserving of favourable comment.
