At a public meeting at the Cooper Institute the feeling was largely against President Cleveland. Mr. Henry George took a prominent part in the proceedings. A noisy Irish minority disturbed the meeting, which ultimately ended in confusion.
Paris, December 26.
M. Ilanataux, in the course of an in* terview, said on a recent occasion France would not allow the United States Government to intervene in a dispute in connection with Venezuela. The dispute, however, had no reference to the boundary question.
