ACCIDENT ON THE MARAROA.

(BT TELEGRAPH.™ PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington', Friday. The Mararoa made a vory fasti return trip from Picton lasb overling, coming across in three and a half hours. While she was coming up the harbour someone touohed the lever of a hydraulic winch, and tho chain and hook in ascending caught a large gangway and hauled it a considerable height. On the lever being shut off the gangway fell to the deck, striking Michael Ash (21), employed at Cable's foundry, and Miss Schofield. Ash sustained severe injuries to the spine, and was removed to the hospital in a precarious state, but Miss Mchotield's injuries are not of a very serious nature.
