WATERING THE STREETS.

TO TnE editor. Sir,—Will you allow me to protest through your columns at tho shocking mismanagement of the watering of the streets in this city. After people are driven nearly frantic and the shops have received all the dust, tho watering-cart comes round and washes out more fine dust to be blown about when dry. Surely for a few days during the holidays people should have a little consideration shown them, and the streets kept cool and moist, The only way to keep tho dust down is to water the streets at frequent intervals, and I am sure the shopkeepers will gladly pay for extra labour if required, even for tho sake of savins their goods— am, etc, Citizen.
