CRICKET. MIRANDA V. MAUXGATAWHIRI. The annual fixture between the above clubs eventuated on Saturday, the 9th, in Mr. Lyons' paddock, and after aclose and exciting contest, resulted in a win for the Valley boys by runs. The Valley went firs to the wickets, and put together 67, George Lyous with a well-played 29, being in his best form with the bat. Miranda replied with 60,10 of which were put together by Walter Peters in Kood style. D. Dunlop, 4 wicket 3 8 runs, and W. Peters 5 for 23, trundled best for Miranda, while J. Keith with 5 for 20, and \V. Lyons 4 for 25, were the best for the Valley. The following team will represent Pokeno in their opening fixture against Waiuku at Pukekohe on Saturday next: J. Keith, W. Peters, D. Duulop, E. Jackson, A Jackson, S. Vinson, C. Vinson, T. Collins, W. Lyons, G. Lyons, and R. Lyons.— Correspondent.]
