the Union Company'* steamer Australia, Captain John Uibb, arrived from Wellington and East Coast ports at seven o'clock yesterday morning. Yesterday morning the London Missionary Society's steamer John Williams left for the Islands. Sho calls first, nt the Cook Group, and then goes on to N<ue, the Gilbert and Ellice groups, and New Guinea. Owing to the strong northerly wind prevailing yesterday the steamer Kiripaka and cutter Gipsy, bound to Ngunguru, put into Marsden Point for shelter.

THE ROTOMAHANA, The Union Company s steamer Rotomahaua, Captain 1). Spcnce, arrived from Southern and East Coast ports at 6.30 p.m. yesterday. Mr. J. A. Tubby, the purser, reports that the steamer left Dnnedin at 6 p.m. on the Bth inst., and oalled at Lytteltoo, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne, leaving the latter port at 8.30 p.m. on the 11th, and arriving as above. Experienced light to moderate variable winds to Gioborne; thence strong north-west breeze to arrival. The Rotomahana leaves for Sydney at 5 p.m. today.

THE CRUSADER. The Shaw, Savill, aud Albion Company's ship Crusader was berthed at the Quaystreet Jetty yesterday morning, and will commence loading for Loudon at once. A considerable amount of cargo is ready for shipment, and the local agents, Messrs. L. D. Nathan and Co., intend firing the ship prompt despatch. The brigantiue Linda Weber is now alongside the Crusader, for the purpose of transhipping Island produce, and the quantity of other cargo on hand should enable the ship to sail for London at an early date. _______ TEE WRECKAGE AT THE AUCKLAND ISLANDS. The Otago Daily Times says" With a view of making a complete search of the Auckland Islands, where the wreckage was found by Captain Fairchild on the last visit of the Hinemoa, the Government have rocommended His Excellency the Governor to have a warship sent to the Islands at once."
