THE DRINK QUESTION.
MR. GLADSTONES VIEWS. Press Association.— Electric Telegraph.— London, October 4. At the National Temperance Convention a letter was read from Mr. Gladstone, who said the Scandinavian method of selling alcoholic drinks for the public account was a great advantage, and that the mere reduction of licenses was a poor plan. The entire question was baffling, and personally he thought it had not been mastered.
