A meetinß'of shareholders in the A 1 Gold Milling Syndicate will be held in the New Zealand Insurance Buildings on the 18th inst., at a-quarter past two p.m. A general meeting of the Victoria G.M. Co. will be held at the offices, Victoria Arcade, on 30th insfc., at eleven a.m. The monthly limelight lecture .in the Young Men's Christian Association Rooms will be given on Thursday evening. The first part will consist of Continental Cities, and the second part will be devoted to Nelly's Champion." Miss Alice Rimmer will sing. The annual soiree of the Ponsouby Baptist Church takes place this evening. For many years the British and Foreign Bible Society have had numerous friends and supporters in Parnell. This evening the annual meeting will be held in St. Mary's Parish Hall. The Rev. G. Mac Murray will E reside. Addresses will be given by wellknown gentlemen. A general meeting of the Golden Fleece Gold, Mining Company will be held at the New Zealand Insurance buildings, on the 25th instant, at three p.m. The annual meeting of the Church Mission to the Lanes will be held to-morrow, in St, Matthew's schoolroom, at three o'clock. Subscribers and those interested in such work are invited to attend. All cigarettes end in smoke; there are good smokes and bad smokes; Indian Chief are very good. • The new organ at the Franklin _ Road Church will be opened by an organ recital tomorrow evening. Mr. Hooton will preside at the organ, and the choir will render some anthems, and Mrs. Nixon some sacred solos. The monthly meeting of St. Andrew's Lodge will be held this evening at Free- : masons' Hall.j
