A FASHIONABLE WEDDING.

YESTBRDAYaf a fashionable marriage took place at Sb. Mary's Cathedral, Parnel!, the contracting parties being Mr. W. B. Colbock, solicitor, a younger eon of Captain Colbeck, of Epsom, and Miss Julia Thome George, eldest daughter of our esteemed fellow citizen, Mr. Seymour Thome George, and niece of Sir George Grey, K.C.B. The eTent eroked great Eublic interest, and long before the our appointed (half - pasb two o'clock) the Cathedral was orowded with interested spectators, the great majority, as usual, being of the fair Bex. The marriage ceremony was performed by Canon MacMurray, assisted by the Rev. W. Beattie, M.A. Mr. George (the bride's father) pave away the bride. Mr. C. B. S. Gillies, partner of the bridegroom, was " best man ;" Mr. E. Anderson was also a groomsman, the bridesmaids being Miss Ida and Zoe Thorne George (sisters of the bride), and Miss Colbeck. The bridal party consisted of Mr. and Mrs. George and family, Mrs. Captain Colbeck, Mr. John Colbeok and Mrs. Hay (sister of the bridegroom). The bride, who looked charming, wore a white satin dress, with pearl embroidery trimmings and orange blossoms, and bridal veil, with gloves to match, and carried a magnificent shower bouquet. Miss George and Miss Colbeck (bridesmaids) wore yellow silk Bengaline dresses, with hats of brown neb and violet, and carried violet shower bouquets. Miss; Zoe George (the third bridesmaid), was wholly dressed in white, and carried a shepherd's crook, with white flowers, The bouquets were prepared by Miss Bond, of Queen-street, Mrs. George wore a costume of black silk shot with blue, and black and blue bonnet. Mr. K. Leslie Hunb officiated at the organ; during the interval while the guests were assembling he played several numbers, and Mendelssohn's " Wedding March" as the bridal party left the church. After the marriage ceremony the bridal party drove from the Cathedral to the residence of the bride's father, in St. Stephen's Avenue, where a reception and dejeuner took Elace, and the healths of the bride and ridegroom honoured, about 50 guests being present. The wedding cake was a very handsome one, and one of the largest' yet made in Auckland. Shortly after the reception the happy couple drove off to the railway station, amid the best wishes of all, having decided to spend their honeymoon in the country. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. George gave a dance at their residence, to a number of young people, in honour of ths event. About 25 couples were presenb. The presents were numerous, handsome, and costly. Mrs. George has presented her daughter with a residence and grounds in Sb. Stephen's Avenue, and Sir George, Grey forwarded a cheque. , Among the guests presenb ab the reception and dejeuner were Canon and Mrs. Mao Murray, Canon Nelson and Mrs. Nelson, Rev. W. Beatty, M.A., Dr. and Mrs. Haines, Mr. A. G. Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Blair, Mr. and Mrs. E. McMillan, Mr. and Mrs. Ware, Mr. and Mrs. James Russell, Mr. and Mrs. James Macfarlane, Mr. and Mrs. Denniston, Mr. and Mrs. Coates, Mrs. Street, Mr. and Mrs. Duthie, Mr. and Mrs. Bloomfield, Mr. and Mrs. Robison, Mrs. and Miss Hull, Mr. and Mrs. Leatham, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Morrin, Mr. and Mrs. J. Colbeck, Mrs. Colbeck, Mrs. and Miss Hay, Mr. and Mrs. Seegner, Mesdames Rack, Pairburn, Condell, Browning, Prideaux, Misses Colbeck, Laishley (2), Churton (2), Boskruge, Outhwaite, Barstow, Roche, Messrs.
