Wellington, Wednesday. On Monday night, H. Piacko and William Fisher engaged in a contesb with small gloves. Hiokey, accountant of the Wellington Drainage Engineer's Department, slipped in alighting from a Wellington, tram car today, and one wheel passed over his body, breaking three ribs. The unfortunate man narrowly escaped being killed two or three years ago by falling off a tram car. A southerly gale was raging yesterday. • Timaro, Wednesday. J : The Harbour Board, at a special meeting to-day, declined, on the casting rote of the chairman, to lease the pump dredge to New Plymouth for three months.
