THE COOK STRAIT CABLE.
[By TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Saturday. It has been decided nob bo repair the broken three-core cable across Cook Strait, bub instead to lay another single-core cable from Oterangi Bay to White's Bay in the Southlsland. The three-core was found to be broken in four places, and ib would have taken ten knots of cable to repair it. The new cable will be laid as Boon as the material can be gob from England.
