CHARGE OF EMBEZZLEMENT.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Thursday. Heard, the late city rate collector, was today charged with having stolen £22, moneys belonging to the City Council. As ho had only been arrested on tlao previous day, he was remanded to Tuesday next. Bail, himself in £100, and two sureties of £50, was granted.
