COMMISSION OF INQUIRY.

The inquiry into the validity of the patent rights granted to McAr'thur and Forrest, and now owned by the Cassel Gold Extracting Company, was resumed yesterday afternoon before Mr. R. W. Pennefather, Commissioner, Mr. H. W. C. Simpson, of Ellison arid Simpson, Melbourne, solicitors, appeared for Mr. Day and Mr. W. J. Pepper for the Cassel Company. The witnesses examined yesterday on behalf of the Cassel Company, were Mr. James Napier, who has charge of the cyanide process at the Crown mine battery, Karangahake, Mr. J. McCombio, and Professor Brown.
